Detailed Overview

Improve Rebound Skills with the Block-Aid Rebounder Trainer

How Does the Block-Aid Work?

The FT23 Block-Aid sits inside any standard size basketball hoop to prevent the ball from going through the hoop. When a shot reaches the Block-Aid, it is deflected at unpredictable angles, simulating a missed shot. Players cannot anticipate where the ball will go, forcing them to react quickly just like they would in a real game.

How Do You Install the Block-Aid?

The Block-Aid installs quickly and easily with no tools or ladders required. Simply insert a pole or broom handle into the hole on the side of the Block-Aid, then lift and set into the rim. The lightweight urethane construction makes installation effortless. To remove, insert the pole or broom handle in the hole underneath the trainer to lift and drop it out of the rim.

What Drills Can You Do with the Block-Aid?

  • Box-out drills: Practice positioning and sealing off opponents
  • Outlet passing: Work on grabbing rebounds and making quick outlet passes
  • Tip drills: Practice tipping the ball to teammates or back up to the rim
  • Transition drills: Simulate fast-break situations off defensive rebounds
  • Conditioning: Continuous rebounding without made shots breaking rhythm

Who is the Block-Aid For?

The Block-Aid is used by basketball coaches at all levels of play, including youth leagues, high school, college, and professional training facilities. It's ideal for teams wanting to maximize rebounding practice efficiency, individual players working on positioning and timing, and training facilities that need durable, gym-safe equipment.

What is the Block-Aid Made Of?

The Block-Aid is molded from lightweight urethane and designed to be gym-safe. If it falls, it won't damage hardwood floors or injure players. First Team's Block-Aid carries a lifetime limited warranty.
